Sometimes it takes being unhealthy and out of shape to truly appreciate what it takes to become physically fit. As a UW Dance Team Alumni and former flight attendant, I went from a healthy, active lifestyle in my younger years to one that was not-so-healthy into adulthood. While traveling the world was a lot of fun, it meant keeping an odd work (& sleep) schedule, eating for convenience (airplane food – yuck!) and not having the energy to work out once I had a day off. Before I knew it, my weight skyrocketed. My clothes no longer fit. I was unhappy and worse yet, I was unhealthy. Joining a gym and ultimately starting to teach Group Exercise classes was the best decision I ever made for so many reasons! It helped me rediscover the importance of physical activity, not just for the body, but also for the mind. It helped me lose the weight I had gained. It made my 2 pregnancies easier. It made me feel BETTER. It made me feel HAPPIER. Best of all, it brought me to this wonderful organization, Pinnacle Health & Fitness, where I get to motivate and inspire people every day to live healthier, happier lives through exercise.
Not only can I do this through the Group Ex classes that I teach, but also through the clients I meet and work with via Personal Training. I am a certified Personal Trainer with ACE, and I achieved Level One Master Trainer status at Pinnacle in January 2014. I train clients both one-on-one and also in small groups. I enjoy working with people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels. As a trainer, my approach to better physical fitness is simple: work hard (but smart!), be consistent, see results. Choosing exercises and activities you enjoy will help you make fitness a life-long habit. Much of my knowledge and expertise as a Group Exercise instructor carries over into my role as a Personal Trainer, which is a win-win for you! I’ll commit to making our workouts fun and being your “cheerleader”. YOU commit to working hard and being consistent each and every week. Together we’ll create a healthier, happier YOU! I have been with Pinnacle since 2000 and a part of the fitness industry for many years prior.
