"
I am amazed at the positive changes that aquatic personal training has had in my life and so is my family. Heidi has challenged, pushed and encouraged me. The water training has allowed me to do things that I haven't been able to do in years. My land mobility has increased because of my water workouts. I train and workout only in the water and I have lost 16 pounds." Coletta Bina
"Heidi's Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning classes got me into shape to win the the 1st place, Gold Medal, in the March 2008 National Nastar Championships for downhill ski racing in Steamboat, Colorado." Mary Riley
This year at the Nastar National Finals in Steamboat, Colorado I finished second place in the Gold category. It was a steeper more technically difficult course than last year. By being faithful to my classes of Aqua Moves and Warm Water Workout with Heidi I hope to win first place in the gold in 2010.
I had also injured both of my arms about a year and a half ago. I joined Pinnacle about a year ago. When I first took class I couldn’t use any of the resistant water tools. Now after a year, I can use all of the tools pain free. Now my arms are in great shape.
Thank you Heidi and Pinnacle.

I have been taking water classes for over a year now, and my golf game has improved immensely. My husband thinks that I have more upper body strength making my golf swing stronger. My game has improved by a stroke a hole. I am able to score about the same as my husband now.

On March 13 I had a serious groin injury. For two weeks I couldn't even lift my right leg. Then I started taking the water classes that fit my schedule. It was wonderful to have some at various times of the day and evening. I enjoyed the variety of classes and instructors. I believe that all of them helped me recover sooner than predicted by the doctor and physical therapist. The water classes are the best form of exercise for me: they are fun and challenging at the same time.

After not exercising for over 30 years, I joined Pinnacle Health Club in hopes to increase my strength, soothe joint pain from arthritis, learn to breathe properly, and lose weight.
By participating in Heidi’s warm water aquatic classes, I was able to accomplish all of these. After only six months, I no longer have knee pain, and my increased strength definitely has helped improve lower back issues. I also recently had triple rotator cuff tendon tears in my right arm and with continued warm water workouts; I was able to strengthen my arm enough to avoid surgery. I believe warm water exercise is the way to go for all ages and pain issues!!! It’s also a fun, social atmosphere where I’ve met new friends.

"I joined Pinnacle only two weeks ago and said my goal (aside from all the obvious ones like lose weight, build muscle, and tone) was to discover something that would be so much fun, I'd actually look forward to exercising for the first time in my life. I've tried a variety of classes and was surprised at my discovery. By adding Heidi's various water workouts before or after other classes, I am able to do much more than I ever thought possible...and have fun at the same time. If I were only doing land-based workouts, I doubt that my back and joints would be able to manage coming to the club on an almost-daily basis, let alone looking forward to it! Heidi's humor and music selections are part of the fun."

I train at the club almost exclusively in the water. I am seventy years old, overweight, and slow moving. I had a knee replacement. Water exercise has helped with my operation and recovery. I enjoy the variety of water classes offered and I take them all at varied times. I did the arthritis class the other day and liked that one as well and would like it to continue.

My workouts in the warm water pool have been very beneficial for me in many ways. My biggest change has been a weight loss of 65 lbs. and a drop in 5 sizes in my clothing. Water workouts are all I can do for exercise due to knee surgeries, back surgery, shoulder surgeries along with arthritis and fibromyalgia. The variety of classes that are offered with explanations of muscle groups and the importance of good posture and proper breathing is what sets Pinnacle apart from other clubs I have belonged to. The instructors are knowledgeable, fun and up to date on the newest water moves. Thank you, Heidi and company for showing me how to find a "new" me.

MY WATER RUNNING SUCCESS STORY
My name is Kevin Clougherty and I have a water running success story that I would like to share. I could not run more than a slow mile or two at most and on many days not even a quarter mile because of a past knee surgery.
I looked into Pinnacle Health and Fitness deep water running program with AQx sports master trainer Heidi Spidell as an alternative to not being able to run at all.
After a number of classes and individual training I began to feel confident that I could run again. I went out to attempt a short run but actually ran 3 miles in 35 minutes without serious knee discomfort.
I began training harder in the water. I went out running 2.5 miles with friends and this run included hills, again, no pain.
I then agreed to try a half marathon fully realizing that I would be walking much of it but could do the distance. I actually ran in the Madison Crazy Legs 8K run first and had a successful run with an average 12 minute mile pace. I finished with no knee pain.
Besides one 4 mile outdoor run just before the half marathon, I did the rest of my training in the water. I ran the entire race and finished in 2:30. With only minor knee pain and very minimal swelling this was a very successful half marathon for me.
Thanks to Heidi, AQx and Pinnacle I feel confident that I can run forever and will do most of it in the water. But it is really nice to know that I can run with friends occasionally or do a fun run or race with my son if I really wanted to.

"After having been involved in athletics, I didn’t think it was possible to get a rigorous workout doing exercises in the water. That was before I signed up. The warm saltwater pool cardio classes are very effective. And, having passed retirement age, the core strengthening and balance improvement gained from another exercise series are invaluable. All of this is done with minimum joint impact and strain."
