Overview
The Aquatic Center has two state of the art pools; a 75 foot lap pool and a warm water exercise pool.  The center offers wide variety of high quality programs.  It is managed by Heidi Meyer-Spidell the Aquatic Fitness Director. Read on to learn more about these unique pools and descriptions of the services offered.
 
Salt Water System Pools
When Pinnacle Health + Fitness opened its pools in 2005, it was one of the first facilities in Wisconsin to offer salt-water pools.  Salt-water pools are easier on you skin, swimsuit, and eyes.
How they Work...
Common rock salt is added directly to the pool water and dissolved. Salt is the raw material from which chlorine is produced. Salt makes the water conductive so that the electricity can pass through the filtration cell. As the water is pulled through the filtration cell, a low voltage of electricity is applied. The cell is a series of plates with opposite charges. As the water passes between the plates, electrolysis takes place; the cell produces chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, and sodium ions. The direct mixing of these products results in the formation of sodium hypochlorite. The sodium hypochlorite quickly makes hypochlorus acid (HOCI- the quick kill form of chlorine) and produces hypcochlorite ions (OCI-). The hydrogen gas is releases into the atmosphere as it bubbles up into the pool water. The salt is never consumed. When the Chlorine depletes, it becomes salt again and the process is recycled. The salt is not the agent sanitizing the pool, the hypocholrus acid, created in the electrolysis process, is the sanitizing agent.
Lap Pool
The 75-foot lap pool is heated to 82 degrees and at least one lane is open for lap swimming seven days a week.

Warm Water Exercise Pool
The Arthritis Foundation accredited, warm water therapy pool is heated to 88 degrees. The warm water pool is ideal for those recovering from injury as it stimulates circulation.  Sufferers from various joint and muscle disorders also enjoy a warm water climate. An extensive list of classes can have you feeling confident that you are getting the best workout possible.  Only certified water instructors teach the classes.  Check out the class schedule.

Great Class Variety

Classes are offered in both our Warm Water and Lap Pools.  Cardiovascular-based classes like Aqua Fit and Warm Water Workout will keep your body challenged.  The Aqua Moves class offers improvement in range of motion and muscular strength.  Try an Aqua Flow class to help reduce stress, breathe easier and improve your core balance.

Fluid Joints
At Pinnacle Health + Fitness we offer a free class to members who may be suffering from arthritis, fibromyalgia, movement disorders or who may need recovery strength after surgery. The class is taught by Arthritis Foundation Certified instructors in a warm water pool that is accredited by the Arthritis Foundation. If you are interested in this class or in training one-on-one with someone knowledgeable in the areas mentioned above contact Bonnie Reamer bonnie@phfitness.com.
Intelligent Running: Just Add Water 
Training in water can enhance your running performance or give you a place to run when your joints can no longer take surface impact. Heidi Meyer-Spidell, one of six AQx Master Trainers in the world, has designed specific water training drills and exercises to take your running performance to the next level. Instructed privately or in a group setting participants will perform deep water running with a specifically taught technique. Shallow water drills including plyometrics will help condition the participant as well as help bridge the gap between their strength and speed. Aqua Boot Camp 
If you would like to lose weight, get in shape, strengthen your muscles and challenge your body join our Aqua Boot Camp. This is a total body workout like no other. Triathlon Training: The Facility – The Coach – The Entire Package 
Pinnacle Health + Fitness is where Triathletes train. Whether you are looking to experience your first Triathlon or improve your performance on your next race, training with USAT Triathlon Coach Jerry Landmark will benefit you. We offer group training throughout the year and match the session to the triathlete’s time frame of training, off season, pre-season, early training and main training.

Aquatic Personal Training
