Matthew Koeser, CMT
My name is Matthew Koeser. I am a graduate of Lakeside School of Massage Therapy here in Madison, WI. I am versatile in several styles of massage including Swedish/Relaxation, Sports Massage, Connective/ Deep Tissue work, and Trigger Point. Being more inclined toward rehabilitative and therapeutic styles, site-specific and local dysfunctions are my trade specialties. As a long-time student of gym-culture, I have a good understanding of the common aches and pains endured through exercise. Combining these two features together has given me greater insight into muscular dysfunction and its treatment.

“People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.”
--“Thich Nhat Hanh”, Buddhist Monk

I ascribe to this principle as much as anyone. It is easier to deal with pain you can recognize or call by name than it is to endure and go beyond. The steps we take to provide relief for ourselves can lead us through territory we’ve never been, and it often anchors us.
Feel free to email me at mattk@phfitness.com to make an appointment today.

Sarah Austin, CMT
WI Massage License #10122-146

I’m Sarah Austin and I love massage!  After graduating from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY, I worked in MI at St. Mary Mercy Hospital where I massaged elderly and pre/post natal populations, and at Relax Station, a massage garage, where people would pop in for quick massage tune-ups.

After a year in Michigan, I moved to New York City where I operated my own practice specializing in deep tissue massage.  Cirque du Soleil hired me for 4 of their NYC tours and I also worked part-time at Trump Tower where I massaged celebrities and athletes.

I use a variety of techniques in my sessions; it all depends on your needs. My work tends to be slow, therapeutic and deep, but it can certainly be lighter if that’s your preference. The music I play is calming and you are welcome to bring in your own music, too. I don’t talk during your session unless I’m checking in on pressure or need you to be active in some way.  For instance, during any assisted stretching, I will need to check in with you.  I have found most clients don’t talk during the session, so they can focus on the physical experience or drift off to the “floaty place”.  However, some people do like to chat, have questions or active feedback and that’s great, too.  It’s all about you.

I have personally experienced lower back, neck, shoulder, knee, and forearm pain.  These were all of muscular origin and I have been able to resolve them all with the help of massage and lifestyle changes.

I’m in Madison to be closer to my family and to finish writing the screenplays I started in NYC. When I’m accepting my Oscar, you’ll be able to say, “Hey wasn’t she my massage therapist?”   Other projects I’m working on include a self-massage tool for the upper body and a partner massage video series.

I look forward to serving your massage needs as well as continuing the work Jenni Jo started.  Call the club 442-8118 to schedule your next massage.
